Social Skills
Social Skills classes at Community of Play support the social and emotional growth kids need to thrive—in school and in life. With guidance from child development experts, children build communication tools, emotional awareness, executive functioning skills, and confidence through games, storytelling, and small-group connection.

Social Skills Superhero’s
These small-group classes are designed to help kids build social confidence, emotional intelligence, and real-world communication skills—all through play. Led by a speech and language pathologist and a clinical social worker, each session uses games, storytelling, and group activities to support self-expression, cooperation, and emotional regulation in a fun and approachable way. During the semester, many skills are weaved into each class. Skills like expressing thoughts, ideas, and feelings; working cooperatively with peers; navigating social situations and problem-solving; managing worries, anxiety, and big emotions; practicing empathy, perspective-taking, and inclusion; and building confidence in group settings
By practicing these skills in a small, supportive environment, kids gain the tools—and the confidence—to carry them into classrooms, friendships, and beyond.
